YOURGB EVENT CARBON CALCULATOR & CARBON NEUTRAL EVENT CERTIFICATION

Through our YOURGB Carbon Footprint Calculator (ECFC), developed in collaboration with Carbon Footprint Ltd, we comprehensively assess the carbon emissions associated with each activation we conceive and execute.

We collaborate with you to effectuate emission reductions through sustainable choices and responsibly offset any remaining carbon to neutralise your event’s carbon footprint. We then grant you with our industry-recognised and certified Carbon Neutral Event Certification.

Our comprehensive calculations encompass a wide range of factors, including venue energy consumption, travel, catering, material usage, transportation, accommodation, and emissions related to online audiences for virtual and hybrid events. The ECFC enables us to integrate sustainability principles from the earliest stages of event planning and foster a focus on identifying low-carbon and low-waste solutions.

YOURGB oversees the entire certification process, encompassing our measurement of carbon emissions, the official auditing and certification, and the selection of the most impactful and high-quality carbon offsetting projects.

Upon the successful completion of your event, we award you with our Carbon Neutral Event Certification in the form of an industry recognised digital badge, that you can proudly display on your event’s website and any other marketing materials.

YOURGB Are Carbon Neutral

We reduce our emissions through sustainable choices as outlined in our policy below.

We offset any residual carbon responsibly, to neutralise our carbon footprint.

Out efforts are measured and audited through which we have been recognised as a Carbon Neutral Organisation.

We track our environmental metrics via our Carbon Footprint Calculator.

We set sustainability goals, and we track and discuss our progress.

We are committed to becoming Net Zero by 2050.

YOURGB Carbon Day to Day

We Optimise Energy Consumption

We’re working with an energy provider who is on a mission to make the world’s power 100% green, as quickly as possible.

We’ve switched to LED lighting & turn lights OFF when we don’t need them ON.

We utilise our thermostat and set our programs to adjust heating and cooling based on occupancy and time of day.

We Reduce Paper Consumption

We promote paperless communication and encourage digital communication, document sharing to minimise paper use.

Where we do have to use it, it’s fully recycled and/or seeded – so it can be planted and grow.

We utilise reusable notebooks and stationery and avoid single-use products.

When we need to print, it’s double-sided.

We Manage Waste Generation

We’ve implemented composting to run our food scraps and other organic waste for recycling.

We go to huge efforts to recycle and separate our waste – we provide clearly labelled recycling bins for various types of waste, including paper, plastics, and glass.

We Only Buy Sustainable Office Products

We opt for recycled paper, eco-friendly cleaning supplies, and compostable utensils to reduce environmental impact.

We have eliminated single use plastics.

We Promote Sustainable Transportation

We encourage biking and walking – not cars – within a 15 minute walk.

Where transport is necessary, we push public transport.

Where public transport won’t work, we opt for electric vehicles, and we share cars.

When travelling further afield our first option is train over flying, wherever possible.

We Inspire Our Team

We educate and engage our team via Climate Fresk Inductions.

We live by our YOURGB Environmental Team Guidelines.

We encourage team participation and we reward engagement.

So what does actually contribute to our environmental impact? While this can be uncomfortable to talk about, the planet can’t afford us shying away from it. So here are the key elements we recognise as contributing to our environmental impact:

Carbon emissions

Most of our activities - from our office energy to travelling for events - produce carbon emissions. Those emissions accumulate in the atmosphere and contribute to increased temperatures, extreme weather and other issues linked to climate change.

Non-renewable materials

In the world where digital technologies are often at the forefront of sustainability efforts, it is easy to forget that all our gadgets - from phones through tablets to laptops - are filled with precious non-renewable minerals, mining of which seriously disrupts the environment.

Waste material

While serious efforts are being made to boost reusing and recycling of old materials in our operations, we still generate non-recyclable waste. Such waste is difficult to process and often ends up in landfills in developing countries, to the detriment of local communities and wildlife.
