TSB Pride of Britain and Sport 2019

YOURGB is an eclectic mix of events and marketing specialists. Together, we have a wealth of experience in a range of events, which means we quickly discover our favourite parts of the role.

Spreadsheets, logistics, Uber bookings and a touch of onsite magic sounds like the dream job for our Event Managers Karen and Emily, who worked on the Pride of Britain and Sport events in partnership with TSB Bank in 2019.

The Pride of Britain Awards is an annual award ceremony which takes place in London, and was first televised on ITV in 2000. The awards honour British people who have acted bravely or extraordinarily in challenging situations and are presented by Carol Vorderman. TSB Bank is the proud partner of The Pride of Britain awards.

We began supporting TSB Bank PLC in London on their Pride of events back in 2017, and we didn’t appreciate just how much of an impact it would have on us. Being part Pride of Britain and Pride of Sport can be summed up with a few simple words – inspirational and mind-blowing.

In 2018, we increased our support and were involved in the Regional events; Pride of Manchester and Pride of the North East as part of TSB Bank’s core value to support smaller communities. These smaller, more intimate events are the perfect platform to celebrate the achievements in the local communities.

The buzz that an event manager gets from the project – from months of planning to seeing your event live onsite – is what makes events a vocation rather than a job. If you partner this with working all over the UK, being onsite for the live events and meeting the most inspiring people, it really is amazing.

‘It was an honour to be part of such amazing events. It is events like Pride of Britain and Pride of Sport that make me proud to be a YOURGB Event Manager’ Karen Hemmati, Event Manager

Not only are we lucky enough to be in the same room as these amazing people but we also get to meet each individual Pride of TSB winner. TSB celebrate people helping people across the UK, starting with their very own TSB colleagues. Each individual has their own story; from walking miles across the UK, to learning sign language in order to communicate with a local TSB customer.

Going into our 4th year supporting the TSB Partnerships team, we can’t help but feel unbelievably lucky to be involved.
