THE TRUSTY EVENT BATTLEBOX

As much as the name sounds as though the team are heading into combat, the Battlebox is YOURgb’s most trusted on-site companion, holding a treasure trove of useful items for any event. From cable ties to tape, USB sticks to glitter paint pens – it has it all!

To highlight its importance when the team are on-site, we thought it deserved a wee shout-out in this month’s blog. As a team with a huge range of backgrounds, everyone has their own “must-have” item which we think are a must for any event team’s toolkits!

Check out some of the YOURgb’s must-have items below…

LINSEY – EVENT MANAGER – SCISSORS

I can’t count the number of times I’ve been on-site and the scissors I’ve taken with me have been ‘borrowed’ – for this reason they are my must-have item.

Useful for unpacking boxes, cutting cable ties – you name it! I would even opt for taking more than 1 x pair with me as they will ALWAYS go walkabouts!

SOPHIE – EVENT COORDINATOR – PEN & NOTEBOOK

I always ensure that I take a few pens with me on-site. You can never have enough as there will more than often be ‘that’ person that ‘borrows’ your pen and never gives it back (infuriating!)

A notebook is also an essential one for me when on-site. Many people in this day and age use their Notes app on their phone but physically scrawling all my mental lists onto paper helps me to declutter my mind to then take away, digest and reorganise. It makes me much more efficient when communicating essential information to suppliers and clients.

EMMA – EVENT PRODUCER – GOOD QUALITY TAPE

Good quality black or coloured tape – you never know when extra is needed to secure cabling or mark out spots for speakers. I don’t think I’ve been on-site yet where it wasn’t needed in some capacity.

KATY – SENIOR LOGISTICS MANAGER – MAGIC WHITEBOARD, CAFFEINE & RADIOS

For the events I work on, I would set up a site and production cabin as a Battlebox just isn’t big enough to hold everything I need!

A few hours after the site and production cabin hits the ground, the trestle tables and chairs will be in place, stationery unpacked, the genny is delivered to power the office up and our laptops are out, we are ready to get cracking!

As soon as the site office is ready, I stick a magic whiteboard to the walls – this is an essential item for me. Having key information on the wall is important for temporary events, so all crew and contractors can see the bigger picture. ONE TEAM ONE DREAM (to build a successful event!)

Next up, the refreshment table needs to be stocked and kettle on as caffeine is essential for the whole team!

Finally, for large-scale events, radios are key to keeping in touch with the whole team. Communication is one of the main roles of the site and production office as it’s the hub of the event.

What is your must-have item, when on-site at events? 😊
